In about less than a month from now, Spider-Man fans will finally be able to get their hands on a copy of Insomniac Games’ forthcoming superhero title that features an all-new story centered around the classic Peter Parker iteration of the famous Marvel character. Just a couple of days ago, the developer provided potential players with a brief rundown of what they can expect out of the game by way of a launch trailer, but now the studio has released a piece of footage that dives a little bit deeper into the project’s take on a massive open world New York City.
Not only does the latest trailer for Spider-Man serve up looks at both real life locations such as Radio City Music Hall and fictional spots like Tony Stark’s Avengers Tower, but also it features a debate between the Marvel world’s most recognizable newspaperman J.J. Jameson, and the Web Slinging protagonist himself, Peter Parker. While the former isn’t aware of the latter’s personage, the two spar verbally about how Spider-Man has affected NYC, all while their dialogue cleverly explains several key gameplay features and mechanisms that will be found in the PlayStation 4 exclusive.
Thankfully, now that Spider-Man‘s release date isn’t long from now, fans aren’t going to have to wait much longer to try out all of the features on display in Insomniac Games’ latest trailer for the PlayStation 4 exclusive. Naturally, a trailer simply shows the best of what a project will offer, so those worried about how the game will handle at launch should rest easy, as our hands on time with it at E3 2018 indicates that the developer intends on providing an incredibly refined control scheme that has highly intuitive response.
All things considered, it’s safe to say that Insomniac Games’ open world trailer for Spider-Man will only increase the hype surrounding the superhero venture, for even though it doesn’t necessarily confirm anything new, the footage does act as a solid case for the developer having captured the spirit of the character and his adventures. So, until we get the chance to swing into action as everyone’s favorite Wall Crawler, we will simply have to live vicariously through the various gameplay trailers shared thus far by the studio.
Spider-Man is set to launch on September 7, 2018 for PlayStation 4.
